O-O-Orgasmic Oregon!!!

After working through the Jul 21-25 week, Jahan suddenly came up with the idea of a road-trip for the weekend... And we ended up going to the state of Oregon.

We left work at around 4 pm, went home and packed before renting out a Ford Focus near the airport. As we left here only by 6:30 pm, we touched Oregon in a couple of hours and rode for sometime until we found this beautiful place to camp at around 11 pm. It was in a park under inter-state Hwy 84, and what more, a river flowing by it! ooh la la!

A romantic place to camp, indeed, where we saw a couple of couples stopping-by around midnight for making out in their cars... he he! (All the more convincing for me to buy a car - he he!)

We woke up @ 5:30 am, had a quick coffee, re-fuelled, and continued our journey to Portland, stopping by the Multnomah Falls, in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.

We reached Portland at 9:20 am.

Halelujah!
I am in a US 'city' for the first time. The capital of Oregon: so beautiful and clean. Very impressive!

We went to the farmers' market and walked along the beach in the downtown area. Around noon, we ended up @ America's own version of the Germany Oktoberfest ;)

Each of us bought 20 tokens and a mug for five mugs of beer, @ USD 20. The idea of the fest was to have as many breweries from all over the country under one 'roof' - it was in a playground opposite the Downtown beach area.

We each had six mugs of beer eventually. My idea was to 'try' something different from what we normally get @ the bars - can u imagine - organic beer! Or how about the watermelon flavour!!! Thankfully, they were real good... he he! - and we eventually came out by 4 pm...

Then, my friends wanted me to see the real America - hic! - and 'dragged' me to a strip bar - But their efforts to 'spoil' me did not work - I did manage to come out in one piece without getting molested! - he he! I found it just about ok - nothing exceptional - and no private shows for me though - as it was USD 20 & I din't think it was worth it.

But it was fun though!

After spending some 90 mins there, we had dinner @ a Persian Restaurant, & pushed off 2 the Pacific Coast towards Cannon Beach.

We camped in the woods a good 20 miles before the town, and left by 6:30 on Sunday morning... We had breakfast, spent some time in the beach, and drove along the Pacific Coast for a good two hours or so, on our way to what was my most important destination - CRATER LAKE.

We reached there by 5 pm, and man! what a heavenly experience Crater Lake was ! It is like the matrix - cannot be explained - it has to be experienced... Ahem! ha ha ha!

We reached Boise around 5 am after a nine hour drive and Monday was a disaster at work, sleeping through meetings! heheheh!
