On Jul 19, I witnessed in person why an Olympian is miles ahead of the rest of the pack.
The Twilight Criterium is supposed to be the biggest cycling race in Boise every Summer... and I not only saw an Olympian in the Women's Pro Race....but she's also a local! Boise's own Kristin Armstrong treated her hometown faithful to an amazing event that Saturday evening, dominating the field to win by more than a lap.
It was her last race before she headed to the Beijing Olympics, & her home-crowd showed their gratitude. There was announced attendance of more than 15-thousand people lining the streets of Downtown Boise, and cheering on the local athlete. T'was fun!
