"Golmaal Again" Hindi film review - And the fun continues...!

This friendship revenge tale is of five orphans, Gopal, Madhav, the two Laxmans and Lucky, who split from an Ooty orphanage, leaving behind a very young Khushi, the sixth orphan. When they grow up, Gopal and Madhav do small-time rowdy jobs, while the other three drive away people from their houses for money, playing spooky mischiefs.

They are brought together again by the death of the orphanage owner Jamnadas, and suspected foul-play. In the process, they're reunited with Khushi. The rest of the story is about what actually happened and setting things right in their childhood home.

All-in-all a fun watch. And good, clean entertainment.

Shreyas Talpade and Sanjay Mishra are really funny and tickle your funnybones, constantly. Kunal Khemu and Tusshar Kapoor are also decent. Ajay Devgan and Arshad Warsi appear to be having fun. Director Rohit Shetty sure knows how to use good technology, locales and art, with a high-budget film.

I did not like some of the slapstick bits, though. I would love to see Shetty helm a subtle comedy. But again, maybe this is what he is good at, and he'll stick to this. Just see that he might run out of good scripts, and just can't bank on slapstick comedy, in the long run.

My favourite, still, is the first Golmaal film he had made, in this screwball comedy franchise.

Prakash Raj and poor Neil Nitin Mukesh are typecast - again, sigh! - as dumb antagonists that make you wonder if all their wealth and success in their businesses fell on their laps overnight.

My verdict2.5 out of 5.
